![]() ![]() Granular is really nice! But it’s only as good as what you feed it I feel, if you just go with a raw waveform, sure it gets boring but that’s really using it wrong IHMO. Yeah, we noticed that too, we kinda figured it has to do with the Psychadelic part of the genre, promoters tend to leave that to festivals… At least that’s our guess. I hope to see you soon live again (i was at Ozora 2013). That's all for now, thank you again for your time and congratulations on Derelicts it is really gorgeous though i don't agree to whoever said that this is your darkest album. Technical question 2: What is your go-to reverb and why? Do you use some exoteric technique to get that lush sound? Technical question 1: What do you think about granular synthesis as a tool to composing ambient music? I know (and hear in your albums) you're huge analog synths fans, do you think they have some innately better characteristic in making melodic ambient? I know that ambient can be made with anything (and reverb) but I often hear other ambient or electronic music fans complaining that granular stuff sound "empty" or "soulless" compared to, you know, the "warmness" and other various lingo usually associated with analog technologies like tape. In light of this do you thing that getting more fans outside of the psy circles could help you in touring more and living more the musical side of your lives? Why aren't clubs or promoters booking you more as headliner? Is it because there is less attention or money for the chill/ambient side of psychedelic music than it's "dancey" side? I also see a lot of other "not-psychedelic" ambient musicians touring a lot and getting gigs all over the world. I also noticed that you tour very little and mostly either in northern/eastern europe or at psytrance summer festivals. I noticed the "will you play in xxx" FAQ and all the comments requesting gigs in your social media posts. That's your merit so get it, as little as it is. First of all I wanted to say that your music always inspired me to make noises and definitely eased my approach to ambient music: I was a big psytrance/dnb fan when I discovered you and couldn't stand drones, now I mostly feed of those and my productions shifted radically into ambient. ![]()
